NEW! Player Form Guide

There is a Player Form Guide for every combination of players that have competed during the season. This example is for Phil Sargeant and Ray Curtin of the Barley Mow who are the current top performing doubles pair in the league. The Player Form Guide gives a full performance breakdown including details of their opposition in each game played. These are available by clicking on players in a Team Player Table or Top 5 Players League Table (see separate news items below).

NEW! Team Players Table

These are similar to the Top 5 Players League Tables detailed below but for all players in each team by game type. This example shows all the Doubles Pairs that have played so far this season for the Bell Ringers. The tables, when used alongside the new Player Form Guide (see separate news item), have been specifically designed to help captains be better informed when making player selection choices, but are available to everyone. The numbers under player names are: Average Number of Points Earned per Game (green), Average Number of Points Conceded per Game (red), Number of Games Played (blue). The adjacent blue ellipsis symbol links to a new Player Form Guide (see details in a separate news item). These tables can be accessed by clicking on a team in the main league table on the Results page and then one of the game type buttons.

NEW! Top 5 Players League Table

To give recognition to top performing players in the league competition, we have added a new Top 5 Players League Table to the Results page; one for each game type (Singles, Doubles, Triples). Players must complete 3+ league competition games during the season in order to qualify for inclusion in the table. The numbers under player names are: Average Number of Points Earned per Game (green) and Average Number of Points Conceded per Game (red). The adjacent blue ellipsis symbol links to a new Player Form Guide (see details in a separate news item). The top placed in each game type also get a banner underneath the table.

Hidden In Plain Sight

You will find versions of this ellipsis symbol ( … ) dotted around the web site. They are links revealing hidden gems of additional information or acting as shortcuts to other parts of the site. When you see one, click/tap it and see what it reveals. You might be surprised!
For example, today we have just added them into the 'Previous Encounters' sections of the fixtures page providing direct links to the related scoresheet. To see the 'Previous Encounters' click the ellipsis link on any fixture!

2026 Open Doubles Melee

Massive Congratulations to Alex Warren for winning our first Open Doubles Melee and Connor Scott coming runner up.
What a fantastic turn out we had with some well fought out battles. Thank you to the 34 participants for making it a great evening and for all having a huge part in what is hopefully the first of more to come.

2026 Singles Knockout Finalists

Well done to everyone who played in the Singles Competition on Wednesday. It was a fantastic night and great fun at both venues. There were 25 players in total and some great matches played, with very close scores but a huge congratulations goes to Matt Warren (Eaton Badgers), Jody Arch (The Crown), Dale Green (Bell Ringers) and Carol Footner (Bell Ringers) for getting through to the finals in September.

2026 Rule Update

Revised rules for the 2026 season are now available to download from the Information page. Key changes: team/player liability; jacks close to each other on adjacent lanes; re-throws no longer permitted; player substitutes in knockout competitions; Melee Competitions.
All league players should read and understand these updated rules. Feel free to ask for clarification if needed.

John Bowskill Passes Away Age 77

John Bowskill sadly passed away peacefully in hospital on April 24th. Our thoughts are with his wife Christine, family and loved ones.
John had been an active member of our league for over a decade and captained numerous teams during that period including the Cambridgeshire Hunter (2015), White Horse B (2016-17), Windy Millers (2018-19).
We will dedicate this year's Past Players Memorial Trophy to John's memory.

Second Practice Session

Thank you to everyone that came along to the Open Session last Wednesday night. Hope you all had a good time and got a little used to the new piste at the White Horse.

Fixture Change Tonight!

We've moved tonight's (April 8th) Open Practice Session to the Bell as the new White Horse piste isn't quite ready. All being well, we will play there next week.

☀️ Summer League Incoming!

As the Winter League closes so the Summer League starts. In customary fashion, we will be hosting two Open Practice Sessions on the weeks preceding the Summer League's first fixtures on April 22nd. It will be a great opportunity to throw some boules on the re-opened White Horse piste (April 8th) and a new additional piste at the Bell (April 15th). Hope to see you all there.

Our New Chairman

Pleased to announce that Sue Noades was elected Chairman at the AGM this week following the planned retirement of Dave Sellick. Sue has done a great job organising and running the 2025 Winter League and is already planning the 2026 summer season.

PLAYERS WANTED

We are looking for more players for our upcoming Summer League. If you know anybody wanting something to do on Wednesday nights over the summer, please let us know.

2026 Annual General Meeting

The AGM for the upcoming summer league will be held on 4th March, 19.30 at the Bell in Great Paxton. Everyone welcome including new players looking for a team to join.
